Creating homemade skincare products with natural, and mostly edible ingredients is one of my hobbies. I’m just not a fan of wondering, is this product safe, or has an animal been hurt during the research. Also, the reality is, natural products often work way better. This is because your body accepts and absorbs the familiar. That means these beauty blends are less likely to cause a reaction, which in turn encourages irritation and inflammation.
Treat yourself or a friend to this Christmas Scrub and Skin Conditioner. Whip up a batch and use in the bath or shower every day for a week, or until it runs out. Gently polish your face and body to sluff off dry winter patches. Then leave on for five minutes or more. Holiday spices combine with the oils and leave your skin like sweet scented silk.
½ cup canned pumpkin
½ cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 tablespoons of lemon juice
A dash of:
Instructions: Combine all ingredients in a medium sized bowl. Put it in a cutesy Mason jar and you’re done.
*Store in the fridge for 7 days
PS. You probably won’t use a full can of pumpkin. A yummy suggestion to help use up the extra is to add a couple tablespoons of puree into a blender with regular or nut milk, and a banana. Blend and have for breakfast or a snack.
